The concept behind Oie Voaldyn Veg is simply that we wanted our festival to be inclusive to children of all ages, but because our parades and show rely on darkness, the main part of the festival does not begin until long past some children's bedtimes!!!
Cue Oie Voaldyn Veg, a day time kids parade culminating in a dance battle on Peel beach!
Open to kids of all ages, we are asking parents to bring their kids in Summer or Winter themed costumes and meet outside the Black Dog Oven at 15:50pm on Sunday 3rd May.
The kids will be led by our costumed performers and characters straight out of Manx folklore, making this an excellent opportunity for photographs. The children will parade down to Spit Corner, down the slipway and onto Peel beach, where they will be encouraged to participate in a 'dance battle'.
Prizes will be awarded for a number of different categories - see above poster.
After the success of last year's Oie Voaldyn Veg, we are excited to re-introduce it again this year, but using a different route and end location due to how overwhelmingly busy it got last year! We feel this is a fantastic opportunity for children to get involved and enjoy the festivities!

Eric Wright Water is a UK based engineering and construction company that specialises in water and waste water infrastructure.
They are the principal contractor for a major wastewater project in Peel.
The treatment plant will treat sewage instead of discharging raw waste into the sea, which is what has historically been happening in Peel.
Once completed, the project will see improved bathing water quality and environmental protection along the island's coastline.
We are delighted to have support from Eric Wright Water and it is a privilege to be linked with a company that is delivering such an important project for the local community.
